III. TROUBLESHOOTING:
If your audio is breaking up and/or the audio is out of sync with the text, perform the following steps one at a time. After completing each step, try running your PowerCD title to see if the problem is resolved before moving on to the next step.
1. Ram Doubler and/or CD-ROM caching software, such as AutoCache, can cause this
problem. If you are using such software, it must be disabled for PowerCD to
work properly.
2. In the Control Panel under the Apple menu icon, select Memory.
Turn Virtual Memory off . Set the Cache size=128. Turn RAM Disk off. Restart
your computer.
3. There is a system folder located on your hard disk; open it by double clicking on
its icon. Inside the system folder, locate the prefrences folder and open it by
double clicking on its icon. Inside the preferences folder locate the file called
'PowerCD preferences' and open it by double clicking on its icon. The first line
of the file contains the number 16; change it to the number 8. Then save the
file by selecting 'Save' under the 'File' menu.
4. In the Control Panel under the Apple menu icon, select Sharing Setup.
Turn off file sharing.
5. Use minimum set of extensions only--AppleCD, ISO9660, and High Sierra. If
AppleCD is the only extension found, use it. If System 7.5 or greater, Extension
Manager can be used to select extensions. If System 7.1, create a temporary
folder and drag unwanted extensions from the System\Extensions folder into the
temp folder, then restart your machine.
Now menus are known to cause problems with PowerCD. If you have Now menus installed and are experiencing problems with PowerCD, remove them from your system extensions and then restart your system.
